The Venue & Your Trail “Co-stars”: African Hills Safari Lodge & Spa offers an exceptional wilderness backdrop. Situated within the 6,800-hectare Plumari Private Reserve in the Magaliesberg region, the area balances rugged, ancient geology with a classic South African bushveld environment. The event terrain is characterized by the dramatic topography of the Magaliesberg, one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth. Runners will experience a mix of varying elevations, ranging from flat savanna plains to challenging mountain ascents and rocky ridges. The ground presents a true wilderness underfoot, featuring a mix of natural single-tracks, gravel jeep tracks, and rugged foothill climbs that provide a great technical challenge for trail running.

The Terrain: Due to the nature of the terrain and the initial climb, Wild Africa Experiences have rated the route a 4/5 (5 been the most difficult).

*** The Essentials:-
Strict Cut-Off Time: Because we are running in a fully functional private game reserve, we have a strict 3-hour cut-off from the first batch. All participants must be off the trails by 10:00 AM for the safety of both runners and wildlife.

Timing: Self-timed. Record your run on your own device and toss your wristband into the bucket at the finish to enter the Lucky Draw. Times will be published online so you can submit them for your Discovery Vitality points!

Crossing the finish line is just the warm-up for your Sunday Session! Once you’ve conquered the trails, kick off your running shoes and head over to the “Pace Village”. As you unwind, dive into The Craft Beer Tasting. It’s the ultimate reward for a trail well done.

*** Due to the nature of the venue & game rangers on site, there is a strict 03h00 hour cut off from batch one, ie 09h30. If we feel any runners might not make it, we may need to reroute you.
