Registration: 45-60 minutes prior to batch start beginning from 05:30am (first briefing at 06h20 sharp for A Batch)

Lucky Draw: As our ethos is around Experiences, we don’t do prizes for placings however a lucky draw with some great prizes will take place after the run so everyone has a chance.

Timing: Runners are required to record their individual time using their own devices if required. Once you cross the finish line please drop your wrist band into the bucket for our virtual lucky draw and write your timing down at the timing zone if needed for points.  Timings will be published on our website in the week for Discovery Vitality Point submissions etc

General Information:  We have been presented with a great opportunity to explore a Private Nature Reserve which is set in the hills and valleys opposite Black Horse Brewery. The start will be at the parking area for Blackhorse Brewery, where you will make your way in the direction of Bekker School & here you will find a somewhat secret entry point where you will enter the Conservancy – the big difference to that of our previous Oktobeerfest Trail is that that this route does not have the significantly steep incline this round. Yes there are uphill’s but the routes are mostly jeep track and no technical crossings. As you make your way through the trail,  you’ll watch the animals emerge from the bush whilst you enjoy the mesmerising view of the valley. As this is a intimate private reserve, you’ll be privileged to spot the resident Giraffe, Sable, Eland, Kudu, Gemsbok, Zebra, Blesbok and many other small species of game. The bird life is equally superlative.

Route: The routes will all be signed by Wild Africa Experiences, so a somewhat challenging but relaxed morning out and we’ve rated the route 3.5/5 (5 being the most difficult). There will also be two water-points, and as always a signature skyline water-point for views here with a quick taster of what to expect when you return to the finish. Walkers / hikers are more than welcome to join us on the 5km & 10km routes & we cater for all fitness levels.

Medals: Participants will receive a branded beer mug as your medal at the finish line with a well-deserved complimentary craft beer tasting after the trail (only for runners 18 yrs or older). There will also be a hearty runners breakfast option at Black Horse Brewery after the event for those who wish to enjoy a relaxed morning in the country.

*** Due to the nature of the venue & game rangers on site, there is a strict 03h00 hour cut off from batch one, ie 09h30. If we feel any runners might not make it, we may need to reroute you.

Take Note:
