Bubbles & Oyster Trail – shucking good fun

Exclusive Trail Running in a Private Nature Reserve. Limited to 300 Entries.

Entry Includes : Finisher Medal (a truly unique oyster shooter at the finish line with a branded glass); chill zone with live music on the lawns, spectacular restaurant(s) overlooking the gorge, fully stocked waterpoints, exclusive access to well-marked trails, trail fees, medical support and a true Wild African Experience! Registration: 45-60 minutes prior to batch start, beginning from 06:00am (first briefing at 06h50 sharp for A Batch
Lucky Draw: As our ethos is around Experiences, we don’t do prizes for placings however a lucky draw with some great prizes will take place after the run so everyone has a chance.
Timing: Runners are required to record their individual time using their own devices if desired. Timings will be published on our website a few days after the run for those who might wish to submit these to medical aid. Once you cross the finish line, please submit your wrist band (with optional timing) into the bowl for our virtual lucky draw.
General Information Venue
This fabulously luxurious venue has abundant wildlife, beautiful settings across the dam, meandering trails & a stunning lodge facility so expect to be spoilt. Nestled at the foothills of the Zwartkops Mountains in the Cradle of Humankind, Kloofzicht overlooks six beautiful fly-fishing dams & the lower reaches of the Blaauwbank Spruit as it meanders through the unspoilt Zwartkops gorge. The intimate but magnificent nature reserve is home to kudu, impala, blue wildebeest, eland, red hartebeest, springbuck, gemsbok, zebra as well as a fascinating array of bird life.
With it, we also bring the Cape Town ocean to Jozi as there will be an optional Bubbles & Oyster Feast after the trail! Kloofzicht Lodge & Spa is a spectacular venue & lends itself to a perfect morning of trail running in the country followed by some relaxation on the lawns, at the pool or at the bistro.
Medal : Participants will receive a unique oyster shooter at the finish line with a branded glass as your medal. After the trail, you can look forward to an Optional Oyster & Bubbles feast to further ignite the senses. Please watch our social media pages for more info closer to the time.
Route : Wild Africa Experiences have rated the Trail a 3.5/5 (5 been the most difficult). The routes will be a combination of riverbank, gorges, a bit of a hill of course & quite a few open tracks across the plains for those wanting to stretch their legs. Walkers / hikers are more than welcome to join us & we cater for all fitness levels ranging from 5km to a challenging 15km over the gorge.

Late entries on the day will be charged an additional R30 per person, subject to availability
General Information:
Tea/Coffee will be available before the run and there will be an optional runners breakfast available at Kloofzicht Lodge & Spa after the trail. Alternatively, please feel free to contact the Lodge directly should you wish to book the luxurious buffet breakfast at the Lodge or try the fabulous Oevermeer Bistro with their equally spectacular views.

Your safety is our number one concern. Whilst so much has changed, some things will thankfully still stay the same. We will continue with our exclusive & intimate trail runs in some hidden away valley and runners can be rest assured that your safety remains our absolute priority.
Withdrawal, Substitutions, Roll-overs:
All entry fees for the Event are non-refundable / non-transferable under all circumstances permitted by law, including, but not limited to, cancellation of the Event for any reason including withdrawal of your participation in the Event, or change in the date, nature, or format of the Event.
7 days and more prior to the event, refunds or roll-overs are permissible at the sole discretion of the organizer and based on medical grounds only. For refunds, an administration fee of 25% will be applicable. Alternatively, roll overs are valid for a maximum of 3 months with a maximum of one date change. If the participant does not, for any reason utilize the entry within 3 months, their entry will no longer be valid nor refunded.
0-6 days prior to the event, NO refunds or roll-overs are allowed, however substitutions are permissible at any time leading up to the event. Kindly ensure you email us on explore@wildafricaexperiences.co.za in order to assist further.
You acknowledge that the Event may be cancelled or changed due to government directives, severe weather or any other factors that may be considered to threaten the safety of participants as determined by the Event organiser in its sole discretion. We have always strived to deliver on each & every event but due to the nature of our activities, some natural elements are out of our hands. Unfortunately, there is a no refund policy on bookings due to rain or lightening.
