Exclusive Trail Running in a Private Nature Reserve. Limited to 350 Entries.

Entry Includes: Finisher Medal (a branded beer glass with the first ice-cold fill on us), fully stocked water-points, exclusive access to well-marked trails, trail fees, medical support, photographer, musso and a true Wild African Experience! After the trail, participants can look forward to a “chill zone” with live music on the lawns & bean bags around the swimming pool to put those feet up! Optional Extra’s include a satellite massage station & a deli style restaurant with a fully stocked bar at the Cycle Shed. The Chef has also arranged a light ‘runners breakfast’ including pita pockets with 3 filling options which can be pre-ordered online to fast track – please see drop down menu.

Registration: 45-60 minutes prior to batch start, beginning from 05:30am (first briefing at 06h20 sharp for A Batch)
Lucky Draw: As our ethos is around Experiences, we don’t do prizes for placings however a lucky draw with some great prizes will take place after the run so everyone has a chance
Timings: Runners are required to record their individual time using their own devices if required. Once you cross the finish line please drop your wrist band into the bucket for our virtual lucky draw and write your timing down at the timing zone if needed for points. Timings will be published on our website in the week for Discovery Vitality Point submissions etc
General Information Venue: This magnificently located venue has abundant wildlife, exquisite plains to stretch the legs & beautiful settings across various dams. The meandering trails traverse hundreds of hectares with the longer distances taking you through the gorge & along the river. Nestled at the foothills of the Zwartkops Mountains in the Cradle of Humankind, Kloofzicht overlooks six beautiful fly-fishing dams & the lower reaches of the Blaauwbank Spruit as it meanders through the unspoilt Zwartkops gorge. This intimate but magnificent nature reserve is home to kudu, impala, blue wildebeest, eland, red hartebeest, springbuck, gemsbok, zebra as well as a fascinating array of bird life.
Medals: Participants will receive a branded beer glass at the finish line along with a complimentary ice cold (& well deserved) craft beer on us.
Route: Wild Africa Experiences have rated the Trail a 3/5 (5 been the most difficult) for the 5km and a 4/5 for the 10km & 15km routes. The longer distances will be a combination of riverbank, gorges, a bit of a hill of course & quite a few open tracks across the plains for those wanting to stretch their legs. Walkers / hikers are more than welcome to join us & we cater for all fitness levels ranging from 5km to a challenging 15km over the gorge.
Wild Africa Experiences Club Tee: Our brand new 2026 Edition Tech Tee has been launched. If you haven’t ordered yet, please do so on the website (under Merch) as the first batch arrives in January in time for our first trail. These will largely be on a pre-order basis only. It has a dash of the ‘Big 5’, some vibrant summer colours & a few theories that really make us who we are, all a lifestyle choice! These are available in both mens / ladies fit as well as a full racer back ladies! It’s a high-quality running top with a combination of microfibre & techno lining panels which ensure a feather light high tech garment with great breathability built for any climate.

Late entries on the day will be charged an additional R30 per person (subject to availability should the event not be sold out)
General Information: Tea/Coffee will be on sale before the trail and there will be an optional runners breakfast available at The Cycle Shed after the trail. Alternatively, please feel free to contact the Lodge directly should you wish to book the luxurious buffet breakfast at the Lodge or try the fabulous Oevermeer Bistro with their equally spectacular views. 2026 Wild Africa Experiences Ambassadors Challenge: Fitness is all about the journey, the sunrises you catch on the trails, the friends you meet along the way & the summits you celebrate – these are the real rewards. From January through to December 2026, you’ll need to log a minimum of 12 Wild Africa Experience Trails in order to qualify for the 2026 Ambassador Society. The time you put in will bring a few surprise & delight elements along the way followed by a Year End Celebration (on us) as well as access to the exclusive Ambassador Society Club Tech Tee. The Rules; Zero fee to register & qualify but one challenge – you must complete at least 12 Wild Africa Experiences Trail Events in person within 2026. Make sure you sign up in January at Registration.
Your safety is our number one concern. Whilst so much has changed, some things will thankfully still stay the same. We will continue with our exclusive & intimate trail runs in some hidden away valley and runners can be rest assured that your safety remains our absolute priority.
Withdrawal, Substitutions, Roll-overs:
All entry fees for the Event are non-refundable / non-transferable under all circumstances permitted by law, including, but not limited to, cancellation of the Event for any reason including withdrawal of your participation in the Event, or change in the date, nature, or format of the Event.
7 days and more prior to the event, roll-overs are permissible ONLY at the sole discretion of the organizer and based on medical grounds only. Roll overs are valid for a maximum of 3 months with a maximum of one date change. If the participant does not, for any reason utilize the entry within 3 months, their entry will no longer be valid nor refunded.
0-6 days prior to the event, NO roll-overs are allowed, however substitutions are permissible at any time leading up to the event. Kindly ensure you email us on explore@wildafricaexperiences.co.za in order to assist further.
You acknowledge that the Event may be cancelled or changed due to government directives, severe weather or any other factors that may be considered to threaten the safety of participants as determined by the Event organiser in its sole discretion. We have always strived to deliver on each & every event but due to the nature of our activities, some natural elements are out of our hands. Unfortunately, there is a no refund policy on bookings due to rain or lightening.
